Hiya does anyone have any info on the gale/yale families in Edgemond, lilleshall, newport and donnington shropshire? I have found quite a few on LDS site but am struggling to connect them to my gale family. Any help would be great!!

Hello, I know it's three years down the line since you posted this query, however, if you're still searching, I do have the Yale/Gale connection. It's actually Yale, was mis-transcribted as Gale.

You can contact me direct on jenni.spencer@blueyonder.co.uk

Hi
I have been researching this family and have done very well, got back to 1702 John Yale and Mary Yale, still looking.
and (I am a Yale) they seemed mostly farm labourers so would have moved from year to year.

Hi,

Furthest I've got back is to a John Yale, b/bap 28 July 1598, m. 21 Nov 1625 to Frances Steventon.

Hello Michelle,
Hope you are still active on Ancestry. I was born and bred near Horton, Shropshire and had relatives there (still do). Two of my family on my mothers side married Yales. As far as I can tell they were children (a brother and sister) of John and Agnes (nee Ralphs) Gale. They lived in Horton. I was intrigued by your message on another board which included the "story" regarding Jack Gale and his two wives. There has always been some family mystery regarding why my two relatives changed their names to Yale, if indeed they actually did change names. In fact we thought one was a Gale and the other a Yale. They both married as Yales. Are you able to tell me the source of the story?

Regards, Ian
