He did serve in the Philippines. He was so very proud of his Spanish American War Service and maintained a group of fellow vets at the West Los Angeles Sawtelle facility for the V.A. at Los Angeles up until his death. His last years were spent in Sunland, California. He was a wonderful Grandfather who had much to share with others about his service. He spent hours telling his stories and loved to play card with his friends at Sunland Park, California. He was married to Pauline Evelyn for over sixy years.

Do you have a picture of Mr. Yale? I am writing a history of the 4th U.S. Infantry and I am trying to include as many soldier portraits as possible.

Can you identify him in the picture? I may have the same picture. It was taken at Das Marinas I have a HUGE picture of company M at Fort Sheridan just before they left for the Philippines. I am curious if he is in that picture too.
Incidentally the original company Commander Captain Charles McQuiston went insane and killed a segeant and wounded a few other men before a soldier mortally wounded him.

Hello, I am not sure that we have the same photo. I have today found three, and I have a group photo which identifies each Company M member by name. If you email me: richardyale@gmail.com I will be happy to attach all photos for you and tell you in each where my Grandfather Seth, is.
I have other papers regarding his service as well. Not sure how to send photos in this venue.
Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

I am descended from Mary Elizabeth Yale (b. 1857, New York), daughter of Charles (b. 1830 Connecticut) and Betsy Yale (b. 1830 New York). They were all living together in Roxbury, New York in 1880, but I have no other information, do you? I haven't been able to find any other children of Charles and Betsy.

Thanks

Hello Richard,
My father is William Yale Wilson whom descends from Mildred Lake Yale, daughter of Lucias Pride Yale Sr. We made contact with a elder cousin living in N.Wales, by the name of, Gordon Sherratt. He had, what I believe is the same book you mention, written by, Rodney Horace Yale in 1908 titled, The Yales and Wales. I did not think to ask him at the time of our visit, so I would ask you, would you know how I could obtain a copy of this book. I found the website that contains the text from the book, but it is not very easy to follow. I would appreciate any info on this matter.

The full title is: "Yale genealogy and history of Wales: the British kings and princes; life of Owen Glyndwr; biographies of Governor Elihu Yale, for whom Yale University was named; Linus Yale, Sr., and Linus Yale, Jr., the inventors of Yale locks; Maurice Fitz Gerald, the great leader of the conquest of Ireland Roger de Montgomery, the greatest of the Norman Lords, and other noted persons"

There are several places around the country where you can purchase a reprinted version. One his Higginson Books.

See: http://www.higginsonbooks.com/genya002h.html

This is for a hardbound version.

For a paperback edition for about half the price, check out ABE Booksellers.

The Yale Family History Book is now public domain. There is a 1980 update that is not.

You can get a copy from my website at:
http://www.dcyale.com/yale_family/yale_hst.html

or an internet search will get you a couple sites that have copies.

I have started again on family history- looking to fill in the Pecks of CT, and the Clarks and Quigleys in upstate NY. Since no one seems to have wtitten a noce book, this will be a bunch harder than the Yale part of the tree was.

I'm wondering if anyone has an Amerton Yale in their tree? He would have been born circa 1936 and died in the Summer of 1983. He married Leona Olive Wilson-Melton circa 1973/1974 (this is a guess on my part) and had several stepchildren. He later married a woman named Patricia.
