I have some information on the Yakes family. Elsa Yakes was my step-grandmother. She was married to Herman Yakes and had one son Richard. There are other Yakes that lived there, but I didn't know much about them. You will find a lot of in the 1920 and 1930 census of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Walworth County.Daryle

Herman Yakes moved to Lake Forest IL around 1910. He came from a big family who moved from Germany to Geneva when he was a very young boy.

Dear Michael:
My mother was married to Edward (Spot) Stuyvesant. He was my step-father. His mother was Elsie (Elsa) Maria Heinish, Stuyvesant, Yakes, Yakes. She married brothers I think.Though she was not my real grandmother I came back to visit her often after my mother divorced Spot. She had two sons and two daughters. The twins "sis' and "spot were Stuyvesants. Richard was the first Yakes son and the other girl I can't remember much about her. Grandma Yakes married Herman Yakes. That was her last husband.I found Sis daughter Kathy, living in Florida and then moving to Illinois.Daryle Stephenson
