Yakes is a name change from the last name Yake. If you have any family history that includes any Yake or Yakes last names, please let me know. I am trying to piece together what I have, and may be of assistance to you as well.

I am just starting to research the history of Clara Belle Yake or Yakes. All I know so far is that she married an Edward Schreider. I do not know when she was born or when she died, but Edward passed away in 1972 in Phoenix, Ariz. If this is fits into your Yakes, would love to hear from you. Pat

Claribel Yake married Ed Schreider, I list 2 children to this union. She was born 16 april 1903, in Michigan and died May 18 1978 in Maricopa Arizona. She was the daughter of Wilfred Yake and Ida Mae Hanna. The Yake family (a few spell it Yakes) can be traced back to the mid 1700's. I would like to exchange information.

I was born in Ca in 10-1962. I was never able to have contact with my fathers family since I was given up by my birth mother. Whom I have not seen in 15 years. I am researching my family tree and have hit a dead end with my grandmother Zora Wilma Yakes born in either MI or OH in1899. She married O. Claire Waters 25 Feb 1920. My father Duane W. Waters was born 29 May 1921. Wilma as we called her was divorced soon after my fathers birth and later marries Bela Foresman. If anyone knows anything about Wilma's ancestory please let me know. Thanks

I can not find a Clara in my line, but I do not have all of the children either.

My grandma (who just died in July) was a Yakes from Detroit, MI. I have most of her line on the family tree here online. Contact me, and we will chat.

I have info on Yake/Yakes back to 1700's if you need any info. My grandmother (who just passed away in July) was a Yakes, and validated the info for me. She even corrected what some other people had posted incorrectly.
