Surnames: YAKE
Looking for info on Yake family who left Maine/Canada and settled in Mercer Co., Pa. abt 1854. One of the family ran a barge on the Erie Canal. Also, three of the sisters traveled out west and were captured by Indians. Two escaped and settled in Texas

I live in Mercer Co. Pa. father is Donald Yake.. Grandfather is Ralph Yake...Just to let you know

I may have info for you. I found Henry Yake who first showed up in Mercer county census aroud that time. I've not been able to find info on them past that. write back and we can compare.
