Hi there! I don't know if you are still reading these posts, but Otto was my 2nd great grandfather. I have Albert as his father, and an old family photo of him that I've been meaning to post. Were you ever able to find out who his parents were?

Surnames: Yahnke, Carl
My great grandfather was Marlin (sic)/Martin Carl (b. 1840). He was married to a Amelia Yahnke (b. 1842). Both were born in W. Prussia. They were the parents of my grandfather, Henry Carl, who died in Montezuma, Iowa in 1921 or 22. I wonder which part of W. Prussia they came from and how they are related to the Yahnkes in Edford, Henry Co, Illinois.
I would also like to know if Martin was related to Ludwig, A.L. and Frederick Carl who owned land and farmed near Gurnsey, Iowa in 1895.
