Hi My husbands family dates back to Joseph and Elizabeth(Proctor)Yaden of County Down, Ireland. Their son Joseph Preston was enlisted in the British Army, which was defeated in Saratoga, N.Y. In result, he became a citizen of this country. He married a Susannah Mary Pennybaker. They had 12 children: Elizabeth,Mary,Jacob(My husbands grandfather), David, William,Susannah,Sarah,Joseph,Thomas, Ann,Margaret, and Mahala. Do you know how I can get access to this book? Thanks.

These people are the same people that my husbands family originate from. I have a book of our geaneology dating back to County Down, Ireland. Joseph was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Proctor Yaden. He was enlisted in the British Army and was consequently defeated in Saratoga, N.Y. in 1777. In result, he became a citizen of this country. He signed his papers with a mark, and this may be partly account for the fact that the name spelled in a variety of ways: Yaden,Yadon, Yadean, and Yoder. He married S.M. Pennybaker and had 12 children: Elizabeth,Mary,Jacob(husbands grandfather),David,William,Susannah,Sarah,Joseph,Thomas,Ann,Margaret,Mahala.

This is from the book Yadon-Pennybaker, by Betty Jo Weaver Windel
Not word for word.
Elizabeth Yadon 12-10-1782 her parents were Joseph Yadon and Mary Susannah Pennybaker yadon. She was 20 when her family moved to Grainger Co., TN. By 1810 Elizabeth had married Willis Capps. 1810 census hows one son, two daughters. Believe one son Joseph Capps, born in 1807 who married Rebecca Moulder. One daughter should be Sarah Capps b.1810 who married Jacob Quick. "We aren't sure about the other daughter"
By 1830 Elizabeth and Willis had left TN and were in Lincoln CO., MO. 6 sons one daughter at home. 1810 3 sons were living at home. Sterling, Eli and Levi are the right age group. Elizabeth died in Oct.1854 and Willis died 6 mo later March 1855. Info from Mary Parker Titusville,FL and Rosemary Lee of Sedalia, MO , furnished some of the Inco. Willis was in the War of 1812. Those records did not list the names of his children. Hope this was helpful.
