Do you have any other information about him? It would appear that he is also my great-great grandfather. More information that I have now indicates that he is buried in the Sanborn cemetery. His daughter Amelia married John G Wagner and my grandfather was their son. Any information that you have would be very helpful

Peter John Yackel (August 19, 1835 - May 19, 1915) and Augusta Luhrman (July 19, 1832 - June 20, 1885) were both born in Germany. They are believed to have come to America in the 1850's and settled in the Town of Hermann, Dodge County, Wisconsin. They later moved to Lewiston, Winona County, Minnesota and later took up a homestead in Section 28 Charlestown Township, Redwooed County, Minnesota in about 1875. They had nine children:

Henry Yackel - He stayed in Winona.

Louis Yackel - 1861 - 1907. Lousi died from throat surgery.

John Peter Yackel - June 7, 1862 - February 17, 1921. He married Sophia Wilhelmina Barbara Wagner.

Amelia Yackel - 1864-1928. She married John Wagner.

Charles Yackel - July 26, 1866 - January 29, 1947.

Peter Yackel - September 12, 1868 - September 11, 1941.

Herman Yackel - October 29, 1870 - November 26, 1960.

William Yackel - 1873 - 1939

Alvina Yackel - ?

My maiden name was Yackel. My Fathers name Arthur John Yackel 12-29-1889 to 04-05-1966, His Fathers name Louis Yackel 08-22-1861 to 00-00-1907. My G G Grandfathers name Peter John Yackel 08-19-1835 to 05-19-1915. I now live in Long Beach CA but was raised in Mankato MN. My father was a druggest and owned the Rexall Drug Store on Front Street. I am curious to know what research you have. My email is: muggs22@msn.com. My Father: Arthur John Yackel, His Father: Louis Yackel. My Fathers Aunt: Amelia Yackel Wagner (b.10/7/1863, d. 4/22/1928) She married John George Wagner (date unknown).
My Fathers Grandfather: Peter John Yackel (b. 1835, d. 1915)
His lst wife: Augusta Luiberman/Lurhman (b. 1832, d. 1885)
His 2nd wife: Julia Stoege ( b. ?, d. 1912). Other names in Yackel family: Dripps, Hamilton, Schmid, Roth, Lang, Hann, Hewlett, Turbes, Zorn, Mauss, Krueger, Turner, Lock, Becker, Remmie, Kettner, Phillips and Hageman. I need help in researching and any info you have will be most welcome.

Hi!

I just returned from a research trip to Minnesota. We were primarily trying to trace the Wagners. As many of you know, two of the Yackel siblings married two Wagner siblings. The church records for Lamberton & Sanborn helped considerably. Let me know if you're interested in more detail.
