Hi:)
I have just found your post, and I hope you can still read my reply.
I know pretty much about Konstanty Wycka - your grandfather's father. His parents were Piotr (in English Peter) Wycka and Katarzyna Wycka (maiden name Piotrowska). I know that Konstanty had 5 siblings: Jan (John in English), Helena, Maria, Franz, Antoni Ignacy (Ignac is a shortcut; like Robert-Bob), Wladyslaw. I know that Konstanty went to US. There is no connection in Russia, just back then there was no Poland on a political map (Germany, Russia and Austria shared it).
Piotr Wycka was German (mother: Hilda Lange). His family turned away from him, because he married Polish woman and became roman-catholic.
Katarzyna Wycka - her mother died at giving birth.
My grandmother is the daughter of Jan Wycka (1882-1941).
Antoni Ignacy Wycka moved to US too. He married a Lithuanian woman; his son worked for airlines.
There is no connection with Wyka.
My grandmother's brother (Antoni Wycka) had two sons. One of them is Wycha (somebody spelled the name incorectly and it stayd that way).
All the best
Monika (from Poland; I live in Canada now - 9054543119)

Wycka-Wyka-any connection?

Hello, I've hit a brick wall and I'm trying to find any evidence on a possible link between these two names. My grandfather was Charles Joseph Wycka. His wife was Helen (Kerod). His siblings were Eleanor(Bosworth), Irene(Korin),Loretta(Stroniny), Helen (Ferri) I'm pretty sure he was born in PA. The only record I could find for him is his death record. I did find his parents in the US census. His parents were Konstanty Wycka (from Russia-Polsih)and Stella (Kwiatkowski daughter of Stanley Kwiatkowski & Antonia Lewandowska). Konstanty's siblings were Kozimier, John or Jan , Ignor or Ignacy or Ignatz. Konstanty's parents were Peter Wycka and Catherine (Protrowska). I think I might have found a connection through Ignacy, but only if he had lied about his age and possibly spelled his name two ways. I have found only one living Wycka that I do not know. Wycka is my mother's name. My name is Baumgartner. I'm also looking for any other connection with the names listed to further my tree. Any assistance would be greatly appreciative.
