Richard George Wyatt married Elizabeth M. Bond in Madison County, AL, in 1838. Richard fought for the Republic of Texas in 1835-36 under the command of Peyton Sterling or Short Wyatt. Peyton S. Wyatt is the son of William Wyatt and Susannah E. Jones of Madison County, AL. I am searching for the family of Richard and Elizabeth. There is a Richard and Elizabeth Wyatt on the 1860 census of Fayette County, Tennessee, and I am looking for descendants of this family.

You probably have most of the names, places and dates already, but I might can add some personal stories. My maternal grandmother was the daughter of Richard Reid Wyatt, their 3rd son. She related a few stories her father told her when she was a child. They were a prosperous family up until the civil war, then they lost a lot of wealth as with everyone in the south. Do you already know the family tree that goes back to the norman invasion and Adam Guyot?

I am related to the Wyatt Clan. I spent about 10 years researching this family and printed a book for my family that included a history back to Adam Guyot. I am not the direct line from Richard G and Elizabeth M. Bond. My line comes from the brother of Zachariah Wyatt, William Wyatt/Susanna Jones, Madison County, ALA.
The reason I did so much research on Richard is because he became mixed in with the family of William (born 1759) and Susanna and I had to figure out if he was a child of theirs. I found Carl Wyatt's writings in the National Archives that included only 3 sons Issac, Joseph & Spencer and none of the rest of the children. AND that started me on a wild search to find the rest of the family.
Tell me what you have and I will figure out if there is anything else I have that you don't.
I did find that Richard G. went with Peyton Wyatt (son of William & Susanna) to Texas to fight in the Battle of the Alamo.
I live in Texas and I can truly say I have probably finished my genealogy work as I am turning 70 this year. Please communicate with me personally at elph@satx.rr.com. Eva

Hello,

I just came across this thread and the names caught my attention. I looked at it because of the name you had listed in the title. My Grandfather and father are both George Richard Wyatt's from Paris, TN. It struck me odd that the info you are looking for is so similar in name. I have literally only just begun looking into my family history. My grandfather had 12 brothers and sisters and his brothers have a book of their history that I am trying to get a hold of. Anyway, thought I would write you and let you know that I am checking into my family line to see if it ties with the names you listed. I find it odd how similar the names are. I am not officially on ancestry.com yet. So if you have any questions, I can ask my family and see if I can help you out. My name is Jamie Wyatt, by the way. If I find anything, I will let you know! This is so interesting! Can't wait to learn more and maybe find a connection to what you posted.

Take Care,

Jamie
