I believe that I figured in out on my own. There is no John Aldridge Wyatt (at least not during this time period at this location). The person in question is actually Aldridge Myatt. It is not a matter of a change in name, but someone with his own genealogy incorrectly being placed into another person's family tree. In this case, Mark Wyatt, borned about 1750 in Bute County, NC, is receiving the genealogy of Mark Myatt, born 1748/49 in Johnson County, NC. Myatt's genealogy is well known since the was a Revolutionary War soldier.

Unfortunately, a lot of people have copied the defective data into their own family tree.
