Recently I've been compiling the family tree of my GGG-grandfather, John Wyatt, who is believed to have been born in North Carolina around 1878. I descend from him and his first wife Alley Rains. Little is known about John Wyatt or Alley Rains. When I started out, I only knew of five children of John, some of which might have been with a second wife. I have since learned that the second wife was Mary Honeycutt, who John married in Campbell Co. Georgia in 1813. Mary is a bit of a mystery, too. I believe now that only the first two sons, Elijah and John, were with Alley. Looks like John and Mary had thirteen children, not all of which I have names for. The lines in my work are not all complete yet, but I have posted what I have completed thus far on Ancestry.com and RootsWeb.com under the name in the subject line for this post. Also the database name on RootsWeb is georgian1950.

I am currently awaiting the results of DNA Y-chromosome testing in effort to get past my brick wall with John. Given the number of unknowns on the Mary Honeycutt branch, I'm hoping the info of this tree will help others get past their own brick walls, at least to where I am at. I'm particularly interested in finding the genealogy of William Axley Wyatt who I suspect might belong on the tree as one of Mary's sons.
