Wucherpfennig Family Bible
I am trying to prove that the parents of Ferdinand Ignatz Wucherpfennig b. 1853 in Seulingen, Hanover, Germany were a Joseph Wucherpfennig and Regina Jung. I would like to get a photocopy of the Bible record that was taken from. If anyone knows who has the family Bible now, please email me. OR If anyone has access to the church records in Seulingen, I would greatly appreciate any help you can give as the Family History Center church records film only goes to 1852. Thank you for any help you can give.

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
My father was from the Wucherpfennig family in Cape Town, South Africa. His grandfather was Theodor Otto Ludwig Wucherpfennig (b. 30 Nov. 1871 ) from Hannover in Germany. I have been trying to trace who his parents might have been and wondered about Joseph Wucherpfennig. Would the author of Wucherpfennig Family Bible know if there were any of this family who moved to South Africa. There is only one family of this name in South Africa.

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
It is nice to hear from you. I don't know about any Wucherpfennigs in South Africa but if they came from Hannover, there is a good chance they are part of the Seulingen Wucherpfennigs.

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
Hello there, The Wucherpfennigs I am related to are those who immigrated to South Africa from Overbecke, Germany in 1883. My ancestor was Theodore Wucherpfennig and the name Theodore continues down to my father. What is your father's name?

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
I dont know if they did come over on the Overbecke. My father-in-laws name is Norman William Wucherpfennig, his dad was Theodor Wucherpfennig Jnr. and mom Violet, she died when he was 2 years, that would make it 1935 so it makes the dates about right. Theodor Jnr. was born in East London and Violet in Johannesburg. There is also a mention of Theodor Jnr. having two brothers, Otto and Karl. We do not know much more, but we are still asking around.

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
Hi there, We are definitely related!. Norman William Wucherpfennig's father, Theodore, would be the brother of my grandfather Louis. I grew up in East London but never knew your family, although I had heard of them. I think I know of you too from my sister. Please email me. I belive if you look at this thread 'Wucherpfennig bible' you will see a post by Morgen. Click on that and I think that it displays my email. I have almost the whole Wucherpfennig family tree from when they came over to South Africa.

Re: Wucherpfennig Family Bible
Hi there, I have not looked at my ancestry stuff in a little while. Too busy. But have just gone through my Wucherpfennig info and found a listing which I got off of the War Memorial site: E.C Wucherpfennig died at 22 years on 22/02/1946. He was the son of Theodore C. and Violet E. Wucherpfennig of East London, and husband of Caroline J. Wucherpfennig. This would be the brother of Norman then I would presume. My Mom met Norman a long time ago in East London. Please do contact me. I can mail to you this family tree and some contacts of living relatives. Theodore came from a family of 12 children! Would also like to know a little more about this part of the family, Morgen
