Ok you Wubs out there, I'll get this started. There doesn't appear to be anyone yet having done a Wub family tree on line. If you are interested, let me know and put together your families. These can be uploaded at ancestry.com.
Thanks.

I have been searching and searching for when our family came to this country. I know it was around the 1860's. My Great-Grandfather was John Nicholas. His wife was Bertha Adele Coppelmann. They settled in Hoboken....that's where my Dad John William was born. His Dad was John Christian. Any help?

I am researching Wubben. As often as not I am finding Wubbenhorst as descendents. I am wondering if my family simplified the name.

I finally got through to the new Ellis Island website and found 20 Wubbenhorst names listed from the information there. Interesting but I could not yet identify my direct lineage. My great grandfather was John Henry Wubbenhorst, a NYC fireman on the fireboats in early 20th century. I need to find his father's name I guess to determine who immigrated. One thing is for sure, there were some Wubbenhorsts that went through Ellis Island. Good luck to all.

I know of some Wubbenhorsts in New Jersey, but not those. Let me know if you want to know more.

Hi,

I have been researching the Wubs family tree for about a week. I have a lot of info about Jans and Jantina Wubs who came to America in 1913 with their three children.
Hannes, Frederick and Geesina. They settled in Illinois - Janes was a carpenter. Is this your family line?
They originated in Holland near Gronigen.

I have more if you are interested. My first husband was John Wubs and he is now deceased and our daughter is interested in their lineage. Her grandfather, Hanes Wubs died 2 months before she was born.

Have a great day!

Hi,
Hanes Wubs was a great man in our eyes, a devoted Father and a devoted Catholic. He died before my daughter was born, Sept. 21st 1975. I was married to his son, John in 1970 and we divorced in 1978. He was killed by a van in August of 1988 and I have had little contact with the family.
If you could send me your personal e-mail, I could download a picture of Hanes. He loved to laugh. I am sorry that he left your grandmother. The family had no idea about his other family. Did they get divorced? His wife, Jean, was very secretative and they never talked about Chicago much.
Thanks for replying.

Hi My Email is camfam8286 @ comcast.net I would love to see a picture. they were not divorced until my grandmother wanted to get remarried in 1959. She never heard from him or recieved any support from him or his family. They had a great life and were very close. The THREE MUSKATEERS they were called cause they were always together. I am glad he was a great man. After all i guess i am related to him...
I am very sorry to hear about your husband. Thanks in advance for the picture! Kim
