Thomas Wren and Jean Carter. William died 1817 in Fluvanna,

.
My g-grandfather was Joseph Hinton Wren (1865). He married Mary Catherine ( Kate ) White on 7-21-1892. Floyd Marshall Wren was one of their sons. They lived in Ok, Choctaw CO.

My wife also descends from this line of Wrens dating back to Jean Carter and Thomas Wren(1703-1768) of Lancaster & Fairfax Co., VA.
However, there appears to be a generational skip in the info. you posted about your line...

You state: "She was the wife of William Wren. They married
2-11-1862 in Independence,AR. William was born in 1735 in Fairfax,VA."

If this is true William was 127 years old at the time of his marriage....?

You also state: "He was also married to Mary Ann E. White of Northhampton, N.C. William's parents were
Thomas Wren and Jean Carter. William died 1817 in Fluvanna,
VA."

You must be speaking of 2 different William Wrens as now he is said to be dead in 1817, 45 years before you say he was married in Independence,AR...?

Can you please clarify?

Many thanks,
Vince Howard

Do you have any proof you could share with me regarding the maiden name of Thomas Wren's (1703-1768) wife Jean? Your message says she was Jean CARTER. Was there a church record, or other marriage proof? Or her father's will which mentioned his daughter, Jean Wren? What were her father's and mother's names? I descend from Thomas and Jean's son Isaac Wren and have been seeking proof of Isaac's mother's maiden name for years.

Hi Trudy,

My name is Annie, I am Sonny (Chesters' Daughter) first marriage. Looks like we are probally cousins. Would like to hear from you. I live in OKC, grew up in Tulsa.

I am looking for a link to our cherokee bloodline, I know Aunt Carol has done some work on it. Do you know if we have a role number? I seen a post by Beverly Thoele and she said she had found a link on the COle side, which would be Grandma Abel side. Any info would really help.

Dear Annie,
We are cousins. I am Bernice's granddaughter through her daughter Sandra. I have never been able to find a roll number. There are Cole's on the rolls but I have never been able to link them to our Cole family. Maybe someday I will find something. I do believe we are native, I remember greatgrandma Abel (Lonnie) speaking Cherokee when we took her to Tsa La Gi. I saw Aunt Carol this week (my mother passed) and we plan to get together soon. She always told me we were "Old Settlers" and our Cherokee name was "Chee Chee". There is a Chee Chee on the Old Settler roll but not the Dawes or Guion Miller. Aunt Carol always said our Wrens wouldn't sign up because of distrust of the white man and shame. I also have found out that the nation would not let some sign up because they stayed in Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Kansas (anywhere but not I.T.) until just before 1900. Some from out of state did get on but most did not. Sorry for the bad news but I am always hopeful. I at least have my memories, I take my grandson to pow wows (I remember taking greatgrandma when I was little to one out by Lakeview Amusement Park.), someday maybe I will have the proof.

Trudy
