Janet,
So many Wraights, I don't know if I can be much help but it is interesting. I was born in St Margarets at cliffe Dover Kent,my father William (85yrs) originates from there also. His mother (Emily) lived in the village for many years (died in the early '60s) and as far as I know was not married. There was also a George Wraight, dads uncle(?)who was around at the same time. Don't know if I can help further.

I happened to stumble across this site during some internet training at work! However, I must say I'm intrigued. My family were/are from Kent (although I've lived all over the country). My father was Stuart Lewis Wraight (b. 13/04/32 in Whistable, d. 04/09/00 Ingleton, Yorkshire) his father was Leonard (no birth or death dates I'm afraid). Stuart had brothers - David and Michael and a sister Mavis

This might just turn out to be a new hobby if anyone can supply information to be able to trace a decent lineage!

Any helpers?

Oh by the way, for anyone interested there's a recent addition to the Wraight family tree - Alfie Jon born 27/08/01. Little treasure!

I am very interested in tracing the children of Stuart Lewis Wraight, and any of those children's descendants.
I particularly want to contact:
Joanna maiden name Wraight born in Keighley plus
Timothy Wraight born Keighley plus any decendants
Please also tell me who are the parents of Jon born 27/08/01 ?

Janet, you give no dates, but the only Henry I have recorded being born and registered at Canterbury; he was registered during the 2nd quarter of 1914. I have 18 other Henry's born between 1839 and 1902, but only one registered at Canterbury. If this tallies with your information, then his birth certificate is obtainable via the FRC ref 2a -1876

I have recorded around 2400 Wraight births from 1837 - 1941 and in my database is a STUART L WRAIGHT registered in the 2nd quarter of 1932 at BLEAN. His mother's maiden name was BURTENSHAW. A brother called DAVID S was born of the same mother and registered at BLEAN during the first quarter of 1934; beware he could have been born in Dec of 33. The reference for his birth certificate is 2a 1614. There is no record in the database of a Michael or Mavis born of the same mother.
Hope this is of some help.
