George 'Joris' Woolsey is considered the "immigrant" for a large portion of the Woolsey family in America - mine included. I use a Website created by two wonderful distant cousins: Wilford Whitaker and Carolyn Woolsey Wilkerson. They have been researching the family for many years and, I believe, have as close as a definitive answer as we are likely to get.
