Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County)
Dec 9, 1904
WOOLLEY--In Longmont, on Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 1904, of a complication of diseases, Thomas Woolley, aged 59 years.
Mr. Woolley was born in Litchfield, Staffordshire, England, August 9, 1845. IN 8164, his stepfather, his mother and the three sons, Thomas, James, and William, came to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he married Miss Monroe. The family lived in Halifax until 1869, when they removed to Pennsylvania. Thence they came to Erie, Colorado, in 1881, where Mr. Woolley engaged in coal mining, and industry in which he has been very successful, being the owner of the White House mine, and the lessee of the Reliance mine, a very promising property.
He is survived by Mrs. Woolley and seven children, four sons and three daughters.
Recently he had become a member of the Lode 54 Knight of Pythias, and was formerly a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a member of the Church of England, and identified himself actively with St. Stephen's Church after removing here a few years ago. He was a faithful attendant and contributed liberally of his means for its support.
The bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of the St. Stephen's congregation and a large circle of relatives and friends who share their loss. Surely he amply exemplified the Scripture "Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord"
The funeral services were held in St. Stephen's Church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock.
