I believe this Marge Thomas Woody is my ancestor. I have her married to a William Woody and was able to locate them in the 1860 Yancey Co. census. Their child, Mary Woody, per an old family pedigree chart, was born 11 January 1854. In the 1860 census for William Woody there is a child listed as Polly L.J. whose age fits that of my Mary. Does this coincide with your information and do you have a Polly or Mary born about 1854?

This Mary married Isaac Grindstaff and on their daughter Della's marriage license, Mary is referred to as Mary and not Polly.
