Give some thoughts on doing the DNA for WOODWARD surnames, especially since your a male.. Males always get their father exact DNA .. That's why they're needed to build a male DNA for a data base on a Surname. Or that how I understand it father's always pass their exact DNA to Their sons. At least it would tell you what line of WOODWARD your DNA is a link for. Who knows what wonderful new stories your DNA might hold for your discovery. Do a search on DNA studies for WOODWARD Surname there are a few working now a days.
3 that I have bookmark are:
http://smgf.org/index.jspxhttp://www.relativegenetics.com/relativegenetics/index.jsphttp://www.familytreedna.com/surname.asp I did the Old BYU sample collection back a few yrs ago now. but I think smgf link is doing it now. My sample test results is supose to be with them now I think.
Let me hear if you do this maybe were a link or you'll find a WOODWARD line to call yours. It will at least give you any hope to find others with this DNA for your WOODWARD line.
Maybe there's a living WOODWARD that will match up right a way if not at least your future generations might get a shot of finding links. especially if your children are all girls. The Girls dont get their dad's exact DNA as the Sons do. it there mother DNA that is the stronger with their Dad's too but mother pass their DNA to Daug it sort of roughly how it goes. Its very interesting.. I did the DNA because my Great grandfather WOODWARD was raised by a foster family in Iowa and I was just recently a new found cousin contacted via my old 1990's posting to find out that my G-grand was related brother to his Ggrandfather. we share GGgrandparents. Its a wonderful story I have to tell about it all as this new found cousin's grandmother saved all the family news clip and wrote a lot of it down and recently shared to me to make our family line link again. May kindness be returned ten fold
To all that keep the open mind and sharp eye alert to find each other. Thanking in advance. cordially, P.Woodward
