I believe Jesse WOODS HOLIFIELD, adopted son of Isaac and Nancy J HOLIFIELD is the son of Sarah SPIVEY and William WOODS.

Nancy J HOLIFIELD may be maiden name SPIVEY and the sister of Sarah SPIVEY WOODS.

Jesse likely married the widowed Adline HOLIFIELD.

The age difference never bothered the WOODS men. Jesses' older brother, Aden G WOODS married a woman several years his senior.

I have reason to believe:
Jesses' Mother died in Sep of 1885 after the birth of another child. Sarah gave birth to Jesse in Jan 1885, followed by birth of another child in Sep of the same year, 1885. Sarah died 17 days later. Her husband, William WOODS disappeared and was never seen again.

Sarah's parents were Caroline GREEN & Ensley SPIVEY.
Ensley was the father of 14 children.

Sarah and her parents are buried at 9 Mile Church in (I believe) Gilmer County (or Chatsworth) Georgia.
