Is there a Christina Wobbe (1836-1918), from Germantown, IL, (Clinton County), in Benedict's family tree anywhere (sister perhaps)? She's my wife's ancestor.

John, it's possible I have a teensy bit of info. Benedict had a sister, Anna Gesina Christina Wobbe, b. 12/26/1836. Died in 1918. According to my records, she was born in Lengerich, Hanover, Germany, died in Germantown.

Anna Gesina Christina Wobben was born to Jan Geerd Hindrik and Anna Margaretha Theising Wobben on 18 Dec 1834 in Gersten, Hannover, Germany. She married Herman Heinrich Linnemann on 28 Apr 1853 in Germantown, Clinton Co., IL. They had 9 children: Herman, Frank, Anna, Katherine, August, Henry F., Christina, William, and Theodore. Anna died August 6, 1918 of a heat stroke. I have photos and lots of info on the Linnemann families.

Thanks for your response. My father-in-law, Robert Haar, was from Germantown and was a cousin to the Linnemanns.
Let me go back and look at my notes on the subject to see where this fits in the family tree.
Thanks again.

Yes, the tombstone in Germantown IL has that birth date for her.
Thanks,

Went through my files. On the one hand, the tombstone in Germantown IL says b. 12/26/1836.
On the other hand a 2007 email I got from Eric Strom has the same b. date you have for her, 12/18/34.
Wonder if one is the actual birth and the other is the baptism, with the year misread or miswritten to be two years apart in the two instances.
Thanks,
John

Emigration records from Lengerich show the date of birth of Anna Gesina Christina WOBBEN as 18 Dec 1835 and that of her brother Johann Benedict WOBBEN as 28 Sep 1837, and brother Johann Bernard WOBBEN as 7 Sep 1832, children of Johannes Gerhardus Hebricus WOBBEN and Anna Margaretha Theising, dau of Johann Bernard Theising and Anna Gesina Sabel. The family emigrated in 1841 to Germantown. Parents married 15 Nov 1831 in Lengerich.

I'm the Eric Strom you received that email from.
When it comes to dealing with Wobbe information, and especially information from DMorley, I always defer to DMorley!
Now, as to the discrepancy between the now 3 dates (1834, 1835, 1836... not sure what to say there. I'd STILL be inclined to go with DMorley's date of 12/18/1834. But, that's not very scientific. Not sure what to say.
