Surnames: Wlash, Wlas, Lasz
My grandfather's name was Michael Wlash, looking back at records, I have found that it may have been Wlas or Lasz. His family is from the Ukraine(Austria). His parents were Aleck Lasz and Karzyna Nowak. They were first in Pennsylvania, then came to Detroit. My grandfather's brothers and sisters were: Mary, Stephen, John, Stella, Anne, and Juile. Just wondered if anyone knew anything about them.

OH MY GOD YES!!! Ok. John is my grandpa by adoption but he's my great great uncle actually.
he married Nettie Bunting and they adopted nettie's niece (Linnes') son John David when he was 2 years old. John David is my dad. so i hope that didn't confuse you but anyway. I was really curious about the whole Lasz thing too because I never knew too much about the history and I really really wanna know. So do you have the last name Wlas too? that's my name. (Dee Wlas). This is so crazy, all this time I've been searching and you're related!, (in a weird way lol) Julie is his younger sister and I haven't seen her since my grandpa died December 10th, 2002. He used to tell me how he used to take care of her all the time, and basically still did before he passed. He was my life, he practically raised me. So is there anything else that you know about this? You can email me at Sweeetnesss81183@hotmail.com if you wanna talk more.
I have pictures of my grandpa if you wanna see. Let me know. I'm under my Aunt Florance's (from my mom's side) login cause I dont have one. so dont reply to farfromit6 cause it's not me! I can't wait to hear from you and learn more together, I'm sure we could share a lot to each other. There was a Mike Wlas at my grandpa's funeral, he said that his father Michael Wlas was my grandpa's brother, so is Mike Wlas your dad? Email me! I can't wait. (Sweeetnesss81183@hotmail.com). - I attached a picture of my grandpa, me and aunt Julie.

My mother's maiden name was Wlas. My uncle Stanley changed his last name from Wlas to Wlaz. Apparently Wlaz was closer to the original spelling. I believe my grandparents on my mother's side was Wojiech and Anna Wlasz. Their children were John, Stanley, Mary and Helen. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and New Jersey also. Wlasz, Wlas, Wlaz

I'll be spending some time checking the wlaz family tonight, I have alex's father's name as John, it was on the death certificate. When was your John born?

Also, I checked out your web site. It looks very interesting. Like the eagle on the main page. I live in south eastern Michigan and we are just getting eagles back here. I saw one last summer and just a few weeks ago my brother-in-law had one fly around his farm, he's about a quarter mile from me. Still don't see them very often though.

Lisa,

Holy Smoke!!! I just returned from a trip to D.C. where I met my cousin Mark Wlaz. I haven't seen him in 50+ years. I handed me very precious packet of pictures, documents and letters associated with the Wlaś family. Just by way of tantalizing tid bits, the official documents have my maternal grandfather Wojciech surname down as Wlas, Wlaz, Wlaś, Wlash, Ulos, and Welsh for starters!!!!!!!!!! I have several letters from Poland from relatives outside of Luchów Górny, where he was from. Also, Luchów Górny is only 5 miles from Adamówka where my paternal grandmother is from. The paper trail just opened up wide.
