I REMEMBER meeting Phoebe Bachtel when I was a little boy about 4 or 5. I think she lived on 5th or 6th Street in Kenmore which is now part of Akron. She was my Dad's aunt, John Ernest Wagner, 2-12-1892 to 2-12-1974 and my great aunt. Dad's mother was Harriet Witner Wagner, married to Lafayette Wagner. She died in 1932, my grampa in 1940. I was born on 10-27-31.

I saw an old newspaper clipping about 25 years ago at my Aunt Agnes' home from the period around 1894 in which he was feautured as "The squire of Coventry" but my 88 year old cousin can't find it!!! His farm was sold after his death in 1898 for I think $98000.00 and became a majore portion of what was the small town of Kenmore, annexed to Akron about 1933(?)

I went to school with Marvin Bachtel who is a Methodist minister in the South. I think his brother is Wellman, named after my Dad's cousin Wellman who drowned around 1900 on Summit Lake when he and my Uncle Arthur Wagner went ice skating after being warned not to skate on the weak ice. I suppose Aunt "Pheeb" as she was called by Dad was Wellman's mother.

I hope to hear from you as my knowledge is largely oral and will pass away when I am gone as both of my brothers are dead and 2 of the 4 Wagner cousins also. We must move on this.
