In years past there has been talk that there was no proof that James Withrow (1801-1877) of Rutherford County was the grandson of Cptn. James Withrow , b, Va about 1746. I came across this yesterday from the Bulletin of the Old Tryon Genealogical Society and thought it might be of interest:
