Robert Wilson b in Ireland & father born in colonies?

As I research my Wilson ancestry, I found a Robert Wilson who was born in 1674 in Antrim, Ireland. Then as I look for his father, I find many researchers have found a Samuel Wilson and a Betsy who are supposedly his parents but they were born in the colonies. It doesn't seem to me that people did a lot of backing & forthing across the ocean in those days though some was done. Is there any logical explanation for these people? Is it a for sure thing that Robert Wilson is the son of these people?

Is there anyone else with information that indicates who the father is for Robert Willson of Antrim, Ireland. His son Isaac Wilson ends up in Jefferson County, NY. This is where my family line is located from the 1800's until 1855 when my ggg grandfather, Freeman Wilson, moves to Wisconsin.
Paul Wilson - Butler, Ohio

Paul Wilson

BUTLER: Paul Wilson knew that there is no substitute for hard work, and that his life experiences of labor and service built a strong foundation of humility and contentment.

A jack of all trades kind of guy, Paul had the ability to fix just about anything and was more than willing to lend a helping hand.

On Monday evening May 13, 2013 Paul passed away in The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio following a brief illness. He was 58.

Born June 23, 1954 in Marion, Ohio the son of Owen D. and Betty V. (Huntsman) Wilson, as a young boy Paul moved from Marion to Butler, Ohio (Richland County).
He graduated from Clear Fork High School class of 1972.
Lifelong friends, Paul first met Judy Johnson in junior high. The two were married on September 29, 1973 and remained Butler residents.

Paul worked for Reeder Lumber as a salesman and truck driver. For over 15 years he operated Wilson Meats in Perrysville, Ohio and recently was self employed.

Having a fun loving personality and good sense of humor, Paul earned a few nicknames over the years.
Known as the "Barrels & Totes Guy" (recently Paul was a hardworking and passionate salesman selling among many things, barrels and totes).

Paul loved the outdoors and spent countless hours on his farm hunting, fishing, and swimming.
He enjoyed riding his ATV and operating "playing on" his backhoe.

Paul loved music, especially 50's and 60's music.
Neighbors knew when Paul was working in his garage by the sound of his radio playing doo-wop and rock'n roll.

A hard worker with a gentle soul,
Paul's life will forever be remembered by his loving wife Judy Wilson of Butler; daughter Kim Wilson and her boyfriend Robert Moyer both of Bellville, OH; son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Kathrine Wilson of Butler; grandchildren Charity and Brooklyn Joann Moyer, and Dalton Paul, and Becca Sophia Wilson; one brother and two sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents Paul was preceded in death by two brothers.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Paul Wilson will be held Friday May 17, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.

In honor of Paul's casual, easygoing personality, his family prefers that casual attire be worn to Paul's memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Worthington Township Rescue Squad may be made through the funeral home.

Online condolences to the family may be made by visiting:www.snyderfuneralhomes.com
Jeremiah, son of Jeremiah Wilson & Katie Cooper?

The many KY Wilsons are hard to untangle. My Jeremiah died about 1828, on the way to or within Crawford/Washington Co. AR. He left a widow, Martha Reid Wilson, b.1785 in NC, and two children b.1814 & 1817 in KY. Martha may have been Jeremiah's second wife. Either Jeremiah or his father left Cork, Ireland, for America in the 1700's. Without any evidence, I have wondered if my Jeremiah, b.1775-1785, fits into the following family. He would seem too old.
Peter Wilson, Minneapolis MN

===
Husband	JEREMIAH WILSON
[brother of Uriah? ~1760-1825,Nicholas KY, m2]
Bir: ~1763 VA??
Chr:
Dth:
Father:
Mother:
Mar:	ca 1783?
Wife	CATHERINE or KATIE COOPER
Bir:
Chr:
Dth:
Father:
Mother:
7 Children?

JOHN WILSON -
Birth: ~1784 Kentucky

THOMAS WILSON -
Bir: 29 MAY 1785 Lexington,Fayette KY or Staunton VA?
Dth: 15 Aug 1857

SALLY WILSON -
Bir: ~1788 Kentucky

DAVID WILSON -
Bir: 29 DEC 1790 Fayette, Kentucky
Dth: 27 Mar 1885

JEREMIAH WILSON
Bir: ca.1793 !!
Scottish Wilson Family to Upper Canada

I am searching for information on the Wilson family who, I believe, came from Lanarkshire, Scotland to Upper Canada on the Jane/Jean Duffus and arrived on June 16, 1843. The family traveled to Galt, then east to setlle in the Waterloo/Wellington Co. area
My Haddow family came on the same ship. Mary Haddow married Peter Wilson in Ontario.
Peter was born in 1829 in Lanarkshire.
Thanks
Betty
Alberta Canada

Wilson, Mabel Alice 1878-1968 London

This is my "brick wall" person, my great grandmother. My only hints are:

Mabel Alice Wilson
born abt 1878 (per marriage certificate)
married 09 Nov 1907 at the Parish Church in Stoke Newington to John Dunn Black
died 28 Nov 1968 at St. Bernards Hospital (Now Ealing Hospital)

Father: Edward Wilson, Accountant, (per marriage record),
Children: Phyllis Agnes Black (b 03 Oct 1908) and John Orme Lindsay Black (b 28 Aug 1912),

1911 Census: Listed Stoke Newington as birthplace.

I have had a hard time finding her in the census, for a few reasons:
-I don't know her mother's name or any siblings,
-She may have actually been born in Ireland, orphaned, and sent to live with relatives in England,
-She may have been put into service as a child / young woman (not living with her family),

Does anyone have a "mystery" Mabel Alice Wilson in their family listed as a niece, granddaughter, visitor - one that you can't find a birth certificate for that links her to the heads of household? Let me know!

Wealthy Ann and Joseph had a daughter Eliza Jane (Janie) who married John Thomas Conger. John and Janie are my grandparents. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I would love to know more about that side of the family.

I'm following a calculated hunch about Risby Wilson. My half-brother's great-grandfather was Giles Risby Easters (b. 1853). Different sources cite his mother as being Melba Wilson or Wealthy Wilows (sic, his death certificate). His father, Henry Easters, seems to have married three times. One of his wives is said to be Melba Wilson, who some sources say was Giles Risby Easters' mother. I'm curious to know if Risby Wilson had another daughter before Rhoda (who is the oldest, according to the available census records). My hunch is that Giles Risby Easters is the grandson of Risby Wilson. His first name Giles was his father's father's name, and my hunch is that Risby was his mother's father's first name. If his mother was Melba or Wealthy Wilson, then this would follow. Anyone have any clues to whether this might be a reasonable hunch? The Easters and the Wilsons came from the same locations in Georgia and the dates are compatible.

Thanks Ray,
As far as Fife goes, I really don't have any documentation on that...only what I've picked up from other Ancestry researchers. So...George Wilson may have Scotland origins somewhere else. New Brunswick has a whole gaggle of Wilsons and I know there must be a common ancestor somewhere.

Bob Wilson
wilsorc@gmail.com

My Wilsons of New Brunswick go back to George Wilson Sr (1784-1866 born in Fife, Scotland). Would it be possible that your John Wilson (1798-1869)could be a brother?

Bob Wilson

I have been researching a lot of Wilsons lately, and have seen several families where the spelling changed back and forth from one "L" to two.

This was common with other surnames then too. My Sinclair family has also used "Stclair," St.Clair," and even "Sinkler," which was the way the name had been pronounced.
