I am working on this branch of the Willits for a DAR application.

Richard moved to Berks Co., PA with his father in 1763. Richard married Barbara Prach/Proach July 1776. (I just found their marriage record at St. Gabriel Episcopal, which was formerly Mollaton church founded in 1720). He was disowned by the Exeter Friends Meeting in July 1777.

While both he and his father, Jesse, were in the Berks Co Militia in 1777-1778; they were both fined for non-compliance for not showing up at muster. Jesse paid the supply tax in 1779 and 1780. Richard re-enlisted in 1781 in the 3rd Regiment.

Jesse died in 1782 and Richard was the executor for the will.

Richard was still living in Berks Co., in 1790 in the census. His daughter, Susannah was born in 1790. Richard then moved with his family with the Prach's to Fairfield Co., Ohio. He and Barbara are buried in Mt. Tabor cemetery in Champaign Co., Ohio.

I am looking for proof of birth for Richard and Barbara's children. I can find no will in Ohio.

I have the NY and NJ/PA Quaker Encyclopedia which tracks the movement of most of the Willits from LI.
