Could be we have some connections. My husband was told that he was named after his grandfather John Edwin Wilford. My father-in-law was born Vernon Oliver Wilford in Sauk Centre, MN in 1904 to John Edwin Wilford and Alice O'Shaughnessy (died when he was 2 yrs c 1906). He had 4 older sisters, Dorothy Esther (Buttrick d. Edmonton, Alta), Edith Roberta (Bebbington, Living - Hayward, California), Jean Ethel and Farel. J.E. remarried and our records show he married Helen Cecilia Gleason (who already had a son). This marriage information is taken from a Baptism certificate (1916,Lethbridge, Alta.) for Vernon Oliver who was then calling himself Edward James Wilford and who later called himself Terence James Wilford before he married. His father died and he left home at 12 years old and had only been able to find two sisters, Dorothy and Edith in his lifetime (d. 1995). I hope this is the family you are looking for.
