The only Wiley family that I know anything about is William Martin Wiley who lived in western Arkansas and probably a while in Texas when he was a young man. As you can tell from this thread there are probably links between William and another family in Arkansas . . . and the family - before William was born - likely spent some time in Louisiana before settling in Arkansas.

So I have no way at the present time of connecting to your family that sounds as though they came directly from Maryland to Iowa and then south to Oklahoma.

There is a tradition that William Wiley's family (his father perhaps - or maybe his grandfather) originated in Pennsylvania. So it is possible that your Wileys and William's Wileys are related.

We have a participant in the Wiley yDNA surname project. Are you in that? If so, do you have a match to some group in the project. If not - you should participate! The results of the test go a long way to proving just which family yours belongs to!!

I have a Y-67 done through FTDNA. My G-Grandma was a Wiley on my father's side.
