We don't have much on Stephen. Have him born 1778, no marriage date, altho first child was born Feb 1803, and no death place or date.
Stephen's son was born in 1807 in Saratoga Co. NY, and in 1820 they are in - town of Junius, Seneca Co. NY. census. He might have been in Oneida Co. census in 1810, but no first name , only S. Wilcox. No towns listed. S. Wilcox is listed with people we think were relatives of his wife, Phebe Rogers. Some of them were in the area of the town of Western at the time.
I did find a record of his daughter's 1821 marriage from and old Lyons newspaper, but it did not give parents names. I was hoping to find a school or church record with his family names.
At least we do have that much on him. Have no mothers name for him.
We have less on his father Stephen who was born in Dartmouth, Ma. 18 May 1747, A marriage record of a Stephen Wilcox and Ruth Allen married Feb 1782, would be after Stephen's 1778 birth, and no parents name with the marriage record.
Nothing is known about Ruth Allen.
A genealogy article reported a will written by Stephen III, but it has never been found, and no death place or death date for him.
Several family trees have him with Mary Ricketson as his mother instead of Mary Thomas. Much
had been added to his name that there is no proof of.
Hard to find information in NY for that time period. Maybe in time some information will be found. So many places to look Maine, Ct. R.I. etc.
