I am also researching this line. This Elisha is a grandson of another Elisha from Connecticut. His son, Lemuel, had an Elisha, Lemuel, and Hannah (at least) I am working on verifying this information. I believe the father, Lemuel, died in Conn. His mother;s name is Olive or Olivia. Elisha and Lemuel moved to Ohio. Elisha by 1804 and Lemuel came in 1811. Hannah is my g-g-g-grandmother. Perhaps we can help each other

I am trying to determine if Lemual Wiard of Ashtabula Ohio is the father of Albert Lemual Wiard of Warrick County Indiana. Albert is my great grandfather.
|
I did some checking and Lemuel's son Alonzo H. moved to Indiana, Hart Township, Warrick County. He had a son Albert L. The other children's names are Elmira, John, Ellen, and Nancy Anna. Albert was born about 1851. Hope that helps. Korleen

So you so much for you reply. I didn't have much to go on before Albert.

I found Albert Lemuel Wiard in a book by Louis Wiard, titled, WIARD FAMILY, 1062-1941. He and his family are on pages 135-137. LDS FHL film # 1728456 item 14. Alonzo is Lemuel's son. I am searching for proof but I believe Lemuel and my 3rd great-grandmother, Hannah, were brother and sister. I can share with you what I have found. There was also an Elisha there in Ashtabula county. I am sure they were all siblings. There is a lot more I could share with you.

That sounds like my family line. Where did you find the information about the Elishas, Lemuels, and Hannah?
My ancestor Lemuel Wiard was born in Berlin CT in April 21, 1788 and moved to Geneva OH in 1811 with his wife Anna Hart Bunnell. Their children were:
Albert H. born Jan. 12, 1811, died Jan. 31, 1812 Alonzo H. born Feb. 8, 1814 Almeron, born Sept. 25, 1815 A son, born July 24, 1818 Beulah, born March 7, 1820 Lycyann, born March 3, 1824 Laura, born November 28, 1829
Laura Wiard is my great-great-grandmother.
Any more information you could give me about the heritage of Lemuel Wiard (the one born 1788) would be great.

Hannah is my 3-g-grandmother. I am still trying to prove the relationships. The Elisha lived in OH and died in the War of 1812 named your Lemuel as executor in his will. He also named Olive and Hannah. Olive was Lemuel, 1754, of CT's wife. Also the Census records of Berlin CT of 1810 has Olive listed with 2 girls and no males. The next line has a Lemuel and his wife. I believe this to be your ancestor. He moved shortly afterward to OH. There are books with the 1754 Lemuel's ancestry which lists Elisha as his father. I have made a gedcom of the books and am trying to correct and verify a few things before I post it. I will be glad to share more with you. I am thrilled to hear from a decendent of this line. I am still searching for church records that would prove thier relationship for sure. I look forward to hearing from you again. Korleen

I am looking for info on Hiram Wiard. He had a daughter in 1827 named Polly. They were from Ohio. Thanks
|
Can you tell me more about the family? Where and when was Hiram born? Are you sure he was her father? Do you know the mother's name?
|
The problem I have is very limited info. I don't know anything about Hiram except he was father to Polly. The mother's last name might be Sheppard i will have to look. Polly was born in July 1827 in Ohio. She married Lorenzo Pierce. She died June 16 th 1902 in Brooks, Michigan. I believe I got the parents names from her death record. Thanks
