Dear Harry,
Thank you for replying. I have found the origin of the Wiancko family name and also my mother, she does not want to know me as her family knows nothing about me. I have the information on her whole family and have met a cousin here in Calgary.
Her family is from Alberta a large family with a brother Harry. I believe he moved to Hawaii.

Dear Don

I'm glad that you have found the origin of the wiancko name, Your mother could very well be my sister, as I am the oldest of ten children and live in vancouver, b.c. my brother wesley lives in Hawaii. My email is hwiancko@aol.com if you would like to communicate with me, I can give you any information you may require. I have information on the family going back to the seventeen hundreds, and would also like know
which one of my sisters is your mother. My oldest daughter was also born in 1954.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, My name is Julie Wiancko. Unfortunately I can't help much in your quest for information. I'm from the side of the family that settled in the U.S. (kansas/oklahoma). I do know that my parents have been in touch with cousins in Ontario (Eldon is the first name, I think). We are all related somehow I'm sure. My aunt in New Hampshire may be able to help with some information. Her email is csl634@aspi.net . If you write to her let her know you received this from her neice in pennsylvania.

There's actually a Wiancko family book of our history. The following is taken from an email which had a portion of the book.
Our direct line of descent begins with Friedrich Samuel Wieantke, the little
bit we know about it is summarized in my book.

Friedrich Samuel was born in Guhrau, Silesia, a town on the border between
Silesia and Poland, on June 30, 1785. In time, he became a Royal Customs
House Assistant there. He was married on Feb 25, 1805 to Johanna Louise
Methners, also born in Guhrau, on April 18, 1786. She was 18, he was 19.
They had 2 children that we know of: Carl Friedrich Adolph, born Jan 9,
1806, in Guhrau, became a Master Shoe-maker and moved to Schweidnitz, about
forty miles to the south, and Emil August Rudolph Theodor, born Dec 31,
1807. He is described in the marriage certificates as the youngest son. He
became a Master Hat-maker and he too moved to Schweidnitz.

One June 25, 1832, Carl married Christiane Emilie Mathilde Friedrich, who
was born in 1812. They had 3 children in four years. Auguste, Rudolph and
Herman, then Mathilde died.

on May 12, 1840, Adolph married a second time. The bride was Clara
Magdalena Lux, born on July 10, 1819 in Wiesau/Neisse. They had 6 children
in 11 years. We know very little about two of these, Johanne Adolphine
Marie and her elder brother, Carl Friedrich paul whom our "Adolphus
described in 1868 as his dear cousin Paul, a bookkeeper and a real stately
man, still unmarried at 28.

Emil August Rudolph Theodor, in time became head of the Hatters Guild in
Schweidnitz and enjoyed the position for more than twenty-five years
("received a valuable silver snuff-box")

Hi Julie,
I am Don's wife, yes you are related. I have some of the book The Wiancko Family from 1792. I also found Don's mother and uncle. His uncle is on his way here to see Don and we shall have a happy reunion.
Eldon is a cousin of his mothers and lives in Toronto I believe, but we didn't know about you or your aunt.
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
My email is 700839@ican.net
Don is 46 this year. He is 6'3" with blonde hair and blue eyes, a nice guy. So do write and tell me all about yourself and thanks again for helping, hope to hear from you soon.
