Hi Linda,

I don't think that we are related, but my Gt.Grandfather was married in St. Thomas Church at Woolwich in 1888 and on his marriage certificate it states the witnesses were a "Stephen William WHYBROW and a Mary Ann WHYBROW". My Gt.Grandfather was Henry Edward Archibald ARKWRIGHT (25)and he married an Ann(e) KEMP (24), as he states he was a Private in the C & T Corps on the Certificate, could he have been either in the army together with Stephen or just a friend. I have been looking for further information pre this marriage for a number of years but have not found anything yet.

The myth in the family is that hisparents thought he had married beneath him, and I don't think he gave the correct name of his father on the certificate, as there is no information on him either anywhere.

Do you have these people in your family, and has there been any mention of any ARKWRIGHT's, if so I would love to her from you with any sort of news no matter how small.

Best Regards

Jennie Harris
