Marilyn,
How has your research been going? Did you get the results back on your deeper DNA testing? I have been so curious about Gower's ancestry.
I found out something about my Whittemore ancestry. I recievied some notes recorded by an old ancestor who passed them down through their children. (These notes were known knowledge back then by our family) Apparently, John Robert Whittemore's father, also named John, was the first one to come from England to America. He had to have been born in the mid/late 1700's in the UK, because John Robert was born Oct. 1799 in NC/SC. The eldest John apparently settled in Ball Haller in Buncombe, NC.
Since both of our Whittemore ancestors aren't decendents of Thomas Whittemore the immigrant from Englan, and they both settled in NC,could they be related somehow? It brings up more red flags for me. It may be something to investigate.
You can always email me at dellis9@tampabay.rr.com Would love to hear from you again.
Debbie
