Hi my grandfather on my dads side is herman valentine white sr.my dad was junior.my dad had a younger brother he called gary but i can't recall if he went by another name.Herman White was listed as 24 on my dads birth certificate so that would make his birth year 1906.He was a navy officer and was in hawaii when pearl harbor was bombed.My dad was 12 or 13 ( i think when this happened)so my grandparents were still together..My grandmother was Irma Joshepine Lee Spano White.But they divorced and my dad was at odds with him for many years so I didn't know my grandfather.I know he remarried and lived in missouri.I seem to recall my dad saying he was a holy roller preacher I am not sure if he meant he was a pentecostal preacher or a southern baptist preacher.My dad didn't elaborate about him.He did say that the white name was from German descendent and we had a descendent come on the mayflower.But he said that the name was weiss or something like that and was spelled white on ship log.I know this is long but I have been hitting road blocks for 2 years.The info I have right now is not adding up .any help would be greatly appreciated
