I am trying to trace my mother's side of the family. Here is what I have as today. Annie Mountain Whitcher married Archibal McGillvary Shirreffs on October 11, 1871 in the Anglican Church serving Sherbrooke, Que. they had Elizabeth Barbara Shirreffs b. Aug. 4 1876, Henry (Harry) Shirreffs 1886 he married Eva Mary McLeod Sept 8, 1915 in Presb. Church Lingwick Compton Co. Que. Canada 1 daughter Maude Rachel Shirreffs b. 1889 d. Jan 2, 1905 in Sherbrooke, Que. From what I understand some of the family may have come from Stanstead, Que or Almonte, Ont. Archibald Shirreffs was married twice the first time to a Christiana Skene they had two children Andrew Shirreffs b. 1868 d. 28 Nov 1886, William Shirreffs b.d. June 17, 1870 Sherbrooke Que. Andrew's body was sent to Almonte, Ontario to be buried. We think Archilbald had a brother John Jr. who married Margaret Lindsay Shirreffs (maiden name not known.) they buried a man named McGillivary Shirreffs in 1884 could be a brother or their father. An Agnes Shirreffs d. nov. 1919 both in Sherbrooke, Que. Any help would be appreciate.
