Your ancestor Henry (b. 1826) was next older brother to my 2nd great grandfather, Erwin West (1828-1916).

Their parents were Charles West and Elizabeth Whitaker:

"In 1816 when Charles was 22, he married Elizabeth Whitaker, daughter of Joshua Whitaker Jr. & Nancy Childers. Born on 25 Oct 1799 in Rowan/Buncombe Co. N.C. Elizabeth died in Buncombe Co. N.C. on 12 Sep 1840, she was 40." (Family research paper from Jeremiah to 1960's which pieces I have been working on confirming today - email me if you'd like a copy)

Charles West's parents were Jeremiah West and Uptha unknown, who were married in Rockingham Co., NC 3 November 1790. Both Jeremiah and Uptha were born in England, he in 1766, she in 1761.
