I am trying to find information on the family of my ggg grandfather, Edward Wood West (born 9 September 1834 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada). He was the son of Peter West (b. abt. 1808) and Phoebe Jane Acker (b. abt. 1812; may have been the daughter of a Peter Acker). Edward had at least three siblings: Sally Ann (married John Brainard; died after 1913), Eliza Jane (married Jerome Cooley), and James (b. 1837; d. 1899; married Sarah Ogden). Family legend has it the family ended up in Canada during the Revolutionary War due to Loyalist sentiment -- but I have yet to find any evidence to support this.
