6. Silas West. Born in 1818 in Buncombe Co N.C.

It is not known when Silas first acquired property as the index for him as grantee has not been examined. By the date of the birth of his first son, found in the 1860 census, it would indicate that his marriage to Elizabeth occured ca. 1845. this family was not found in the 1850 census, nor has a marriage record been found. The 1860 census shows them in Leicester and in 1870 and 1880 in Sandy Mush, Silas is shown as a farmer. In 1883 Silas and Elizabeth, his wife, along with Henry, Silas' brother, sold 140 acres of land on Turkey Creek to E. (Erwin/Ervin?) West, another brother. Silas and Elizabeth's names do not appear in the cemetery inscriptions of Buncombe Co. N.C. that are in print, so dates and places of death are unknown.

In 1845 when Silas was 27, he married Elizabeth Unk. Born in 1824 in Buncombe Co N.C.

On 14 Feb 1891 when Patrick H. was 32, he married Sarah E. Mann, in Buncombe Co. N.C.

ix. John A.. Born in 1861.

x. Harriet A.. Born in 1863 in Buncombe Co. N.C. Harriet A. died in Leicester, Buncombe Co. N.C. on 31 May 1928, she was 65.
