I just came upon this Wenger forum and am surprised to find so many of you with Wenger ancestors who came in the 1800s and settled out west! My Wenger ancestors arrived in 1727 and were among the first settlers of Pennsylvania. Wengers are all over the place in Lancaster County (my grandmother was a Wenger), and I thought everybody knew that they were Mennonites who came from Switzerland. I have a copy of the 1971 Wenger Genealogy, vol. 1 (don't know if they ever made any other volumes). If anyone would like me to look up their ancestors' names, please e-mail me. These are the descendants of Christian Wenger, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1727 and settled in Groffdale, Lancaster Co., Pa.
