I am trying to track down anyone with the
spelling WIEsman...
or anyone who understands the differences
in the spellings...
most are WEIs(s)man(n)...do you
know if there is any significance to the
differences in the spellings of this
name?? Geographic origin??
Religious origin???
Any chance they settled in Wisconsin?
Magdelena Weisman was born about 1805...
She married a John (Johan Ott) in Germany
and they settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin...then
moved to LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
They are buried in Calvary Cemetery
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
My GGG-grandfather was a doctor in south
eastern Wisconsin..strangely enough, in his
medical bags is an old circumcision board...from
about the 1850's...also, we have always wondered
why out grandmother used to use words that
sounded "yiddish" in origin???
Magdelena Wiesman/Weisman..etc..married
Johann OTT..to them was born at least one
son--George OTT who was born in
Neukirch, Bavaria (wherever that is)...
Any ideas appreciated...Thank you in advance,
Wiesman, Weisman, Weismann, Weissman, Weissmann
Weseman, Wesemann, Weisemann, Wiesmain,
Wiessmann, or Wissman, Wissmann, or Wiseman
Susan
