gustav weigelt took his family to england just before ww1 settled in london/middlesex apparently came from germany area silisia black forest area anybody know or have ibfo. on this family because it seems you weigelts are very secretive of your families for some reason my wifes g/father was george weigelt and he had a brother gus and more

My great grandfather was Sebastian Weigelt of Oswego, born about 01/19/1835 in Bavaria. Married Theresia Oberseiser about 09/221/1858.
He was a blacksmith.

I know why you can't find a place called (Nordamerica) because it's Norwegian for North America. Hull is in England and a migration place from Norway. Here's a link on the Hull migrations...

Information about my Grandmother August Weigelt

She came over from Germany on April 16, 1892 from Hamburg, Germany with I thought were her 5 children, but I'm not sure all of them were her children. The boat they came over on was named the Esperaza. But I can't find where they landed in the USA. My Mom is her youngest daughter and she just turned 83 this month and she doesn't rmember much about Grandma's family. Mom also has one other sister living , but she doesn't remember anything either. The name of the people she came over with were, Caroline, Anna, Louise, August, Augusta. According to the ship arrival it said they were to arrive Hull(Nordamerika via Liverpool), but I can't find any information on such a place. so if anyone has any information on this I would truly appreciate it. Or on my Grandmother and her family!

Johann Gottlieb WEIGELT, citizen and weaver in 1860 in Oels, Kreis [county] Oels, Schlesien [Silesia]
whose son
Carl Gottlieb Adolph WEIGELT, born June 1825, weaver in Wilsnack, Brandenburg
married 14 Aug 1860 in Wilsnack
Marie Dorothee (Louise) OERTEL, born 8 July 1824 in Neuplatendorf, Sachsen [Saxony], daughter of Andreas OERTEL, laborer in Neuplatendorf.
The couple already had 2 children before they got married:
1) Louise Anna Marie, born 1 Sep 1857 in Pritzwalk, Brandenburg
2) Adolf Friedrich Carl, born 31 Jul 1859 in Pritzwalk
More information on more children available.

My great grandfather was George Sebastian Weigelt b.1/22/1864. He married Josephine Kellogg Harman b.1866 in Oswego, d. 1931 in Carthage, NY.

I am indirectly searching the Weigelt name from Oswego, NY.

James Scott, b 1859, and his wife Anna lived in Oswego.
They had 2 daughters and 3 sons. One of the daughters married a George Weigelt of Oswego...she is mentioned in the obit. of her brother RObert W. Scott.

I was hoping someone researching George would have info on his wife!

I am looking for the parents of Anna Weigelt. She married Mr. Habitz, and later, Julius Wagner in 1915-ish. She died around 1935-ish. She is my great-grandmother. I know nothing about her except this.

Great! I would love that. I could round up some pics too. My father is James Henry Weigelt. His Aunt Edna just passed away. SO i'm thinking they're one in the same. My dads father was Herbert Weigelt and mother was Vyola Weigelt. My Grandfathers parents were Henry and Amelia Weigelt. My dads uncles were Reuben and Art and theres another one and a woman too. I have the list somewhere :P
But I would definitely appreciate any pics u could send me. My email is erinweigelt (at) yahoo.com. I wrote it that way because I'm not sure they'll let me write my address. Sometimes they'll black it out of the message.

My greatgrandpa came from either White Russia or Prussia. He settled in North Dakota. Henry Weigelt. He had a 4 children: Herbert Weigelt, Art Weigelt, Rueben Weigelt, and a daughter. There is still a lot of Weigelts in North Dakota and my family here in Illinois. I'm looking for others in my family who have branched out over the U.S.

My g. g. grandfathers name was John T. Weigelt married to Antonia, born 1800's . One of their children, my great grandmother, was Anna Olga Weigelt(need confirmation on her name) born 1880's married to Harry Woolman Bodine, 1922 census shows they lived with their children and Anna's brother Roy Weigelt in Darby Borrough, Delaware County, PA. My grandmother was one of the children, her name, Olga Antonia Bodine born 1907, Delaware County, PA, married to Charles Donald Wagner. My grandparents raised their two son's in Philadelphia, PA then moved on to Los Angeles, California in 1969. Siblings to Anna Olga are Horace, Claira, Mercedes, Roy and a few more. John T. Weigelt was owner and operator of a General Merchantile, and from what I understand after his death his wife went on to live in Cherry Hill, affluent neighborhood for the time????? I do have a photo of Anna Olga Weigelt-Bodine (g.g. grandmother) and her son, taken in the 40's, war time, he being in military attire. Let me know. Email me. Seeking relatives of Juliane WEIGELT b. 15 July 1842 Germany. Married Daniel SCHULTZ/SHULTZ ca. 1862. May have lived in the German Settlement of Lutz, Russia at one time or in Russian Poland. Their son, Johann Andreas was born near Hochdorf, Germany in a place called Farotschin. Immigrated to the US in 1892. Lived in Green Bay, VA where she died. May also have lived in PA or WVa briefly. Had 10 children.

Known Children:
Emil married and lived near Philadelphia, PA 6 children
Pauline m. Karl STIBS lived in WI 8 children
Robert, died young
Johann Andreas m. Emelie DINKLER and lived in York Co., Va, Charleston, WVa, and Green Bay, VA. 7 children
Emma Marie (twin) m. Hugo KIPPER and lived in Newport News, VA --my line 4 children
Eva Augusta (twin) m. Emil KIPPER lived in NYC where she disappeared. Had a son.

We too have Weigelt ancestors that came from Kassel Bavaria to Texas in about 1837. They first came to the east coast in about 1833 and then to Texas. Our John Weigelt left siblings in Germany. Our John Weigelt was born 1801 and died in Colorado Co. Texas. He had a brother who was to have come to Texas but died before he could get here. His name was Anton. Anton was married to Barbara Schmitt and they had at least 4 children, one being a John Weigelt also. This child of Anton and Barbara is our gr. grandfather. There is only one male decendant of this John Weigelt left in Texas and no offspring in sight!! Would be interested to know where your Weigelts originated in Germany. Jeane

Searching for information on the parents or siblings of Reinhold WEIGELT (b abt 1834 in Germany) Married Louise Caroline Reimann (b abt 1840 Germany) Their children were 5 daughters born from 1865-1876 in Ernsdorf Reinenbach Schlesien Germany. They family immigrated to US in 1878. Reinhold died in Arkansas 1903, Louise in 1895.
