Robert and William Webb, AL Midland Railway, 1898, Montgomery

Looking for ROBERT and WILLIAM WEBB, worked at the Alabama Midland Railway shops in at least 1897 and 1898, Montgomery Alabama. I show address in the City Directory as 132 Heron at the time. My great grandfather, John F. Hayles also worked there in 1898-1899 During that time he was married to his wife, MINNIE WARREN WEBB. I am unable to find any information on Minnie prior to her getting married and am wondering if she may have been related to Robert and/or William Webb? Thank you

Hi, I have a copy of the data Bob Keyes had posted, a very thorough researcher. I am also descended from John Webb and Sarah Breidinger through George and would like to hear from you. FYI Savilla Boone, Isaiah's wife, died on Aug 30, 1862. The Sept 13 date commonly quoted stems from the Sept 13 weekly issue of the Columbia Democrat, which can be viewed at L.O.C. online. Page 2 col 7. It merely gives the date, no obit.

Dave//

I have a William Webb in my line no dates except a wedding date 1886 to Maggie Broyles in Davidson County Tennessee...and yes mine was supposed to have Indian blood as well...his cousin or Brother was my grandfather Robert lee Webb who married Mallie Broyles...sister to Maggie. I have had a heck of a time trying to trace my webbs...this is as far as I have gotten. Although my dad said he was related to Judge Roy Bean, Daniel Boone, Captain Mathew Webb who swam the English Channel and died in the Niagara Falls. And the bloodline is supposed to be Cherokee but I am not sure.

He was born on Dec.16th 1903,died Nov 9th, 1958. My dad Hugh was the son of William Peter Webb & Margaret E Maude Fahie,(married 1900,)together Wm. & Margaret had 7 children. However, Willism Peter Webb was first married to Emily Teresa Lawlor Keith. Her YOB:1859-1899.THEY MARRIED IN 1878.Together they had 11 children!!!! Stewart Archibald Matthew born 1892 in Pleasant Harbour,Nova Scotia,Canada. (my uncle Srewart)was #9 on the list from Wm. & his first wife Emily. I think both wives died in child birth.
This ancestry is new to me as well. I was on line looking for my great grand father Webb. His name is William Lawrence Webb and he married Suzannah Jennings. I understand 3 Webb brothers came to Canada from England. William Peter was the son of....William Lawrence.
Sorry I can't share more than this with you at this time. I do have a cousin Veronica who was doing the Ancestry a few years back. Not sure how far she got.
Grand dad was a busy man....WINK! WINK!
Good luck, please reply if this was useful.I would like to omtinue to find my relatives.
Take care from Nova Scotia. :)
Patricia

It is possible that Abner was force conscripted in Galveston Texas, as his son was born there in July 1860 and there was known force conscription in Galveston. He may have died of yellow fever which broke out there in 1862.

Charles Orick Webb died 1898 Colorado...born in New York

I am not related to this family...

Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County)
Nov 25, 1898
WEBB--In Longmont, Monday, Nov. 21, 1898, of Atheroma, Charles Orick Webb, aged 58 years, 2 months and 1 day.
It had been noticed by his many friends that Mr. Webb has been failing in health of his collar bone, which accident occurred April 14, 1897, he has never been strong, and work has been physically painful.. He has been an active man in the milling business from the time he came to Longmont in 1872, until his health gave out. He was one of the firm of Denio, Webb & Barr, and also Dickson, Webb & Andrews and the many friends he came in Colorado during his active business life, will regret to hear of his death.
He invented a process for crystalizing the germ of wheat in process of milling, but through the lack of means it was not pushed forward, though said to be very successful. The patent is still held in his name.
Charles O. Webb was born in Bombay, Franklin Co., New York, Sept, 1840. In 1865 he went to Minnesota where he remained until the fall of 1872, when he came to Longmont, where he has since resided. He was married to Miss Rosetta Reed, in June 1881. Two daughters have been born to them, one dying in infancy, Ethel, the remaining daughter is now 15 years of age. He leaves a wife, a brother, James, in Massena, N. Y. and two brothers, William H., and Hardy Webb, and one sister, Miss Carrie, as well as a mother who is now 81 years of age, in Longmont.
Mr. Webb has been an active member of the Masonic fraternity, was a charter member of the Longmont Chapter and the Long's Peak Commandery, and was too well known as an honorable, upright man to need words of comment at this time.
Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church by REv. E. F. Harris and Dr. A. A. Johnson, after the remains were taken in charge by the Masonic fraternity, and escorted to the Longmont cemetery, and buried according to the ritual of that order.

Find-a-grave 53480416

The owner of this memorial will not add info unless the request comes from a family member, which I am not.
It would nice if this obit was added....birth and death info added, and his middle name.
