I am looking for info on S.J. Weadon and his wife Susan A. (maiden unknown). They are my great grandparents. Their son Charles was born 1899, 1900 or 1901. He married Loma Kerns and had my mother. Any info appreciated.

Check with the Library of Virginia - I seem to remember a Weadon (spelled Weedon) that was in the Civil War and his wife Susan received a military pension - but they may not be the same one. Just use the search engine to get the LVA. I'm having problems locating my great, great, great grandfather William Weadon. Census records show that he was born in MD around 1766, other records indicate he was married in VA to a "Martha", which may be a Crenshaw. Yet there is a William Pearle that died in 1784 and left his grandchildren some money, and one was named William Weadon. We can't tell who his mother is. Do you have any information on him? All the children after him are William, Jonathan, George. Please reply to sirving1959@hotmail.com. Thanks, Susan Irving

The Weadon Family is a by marriage family for me and I have just started pursuing them. If it is the same family, Charles H. Weadon, Jr. is my uncle. Looking at the census I figured his father, CHW, SR., birth year ca. 1900. I found WWI Registration Card and the info is as follows: Charles Henry Weadon - Address Cauder(this is what it looks like) Virginia - b. 18 February 1899 - mother's name: Mrs. Sanford Weadon. Description: Tall, medium build, Blue eyes, light hair.

You said your mother is his daughter? Is her name Virginia and they had a brother named Preston?

Joyce

Charles Henry Weadon that was born c 1900 had 4 children with Loma: Virginia (Alberta); Charles, Jr; Preston; and Margaret. Margaret is my mother. He also had children, I believe 2 by a lady I can't recall her name; and 1 child - Floyd (?) or Lloyd - by his last wife. The last child was adopted at Chas H. death. How are you related thru marriage? Terry

I do not remember the name of Uncle Charles' wife as he has been gone for awhile. I do know that one of his kids is called "Dutch" although I have not spoken to him in many years. He was close to Uncle Press tho. Are you looking for any specific information for your files? I was looking up quite a bit of it awhile back but have not put anything major online. If you like you can send an email to ter2me@comcast.net rather than this website.

Yes, Chas H. had 4 children, Charles, Virginia, Preston, and Margaret. However since I posted this I discovered that Sanford Weadon and Susan had either adopted him or more likely fostered him (census 1910). Margaret was my mother. If Chas, Jr is your uncle by marriage, who was your husband's Weadon parent? Terry
