Hello
As you can see my family name is not quite the same spelling but my grandfather came from Cork area and said that he had relatives in the South East of Eire. The name Weddick is very rare in the world as I have only tracked down about 5 or 6 families in the US / Canada, only my kin in England and nobody in Australia / New Zealand.
Do you have any knowledge of variations on the name?

Weadick/Waddick/etc.

Hello Tony....I know a lot about the Weadick name and it's variations....Weadock (US) Weadick (Co.Wicklow) Waddick/Waddock (Wexford) Older variations include Weidick/ock, Wadigg, Waydock. The name was MacVaddock in Irish and is an ancient Gaelic/Irish name, from what I've read...and
not Viking or Norman, as our family thought.
The name is pronounced Way dock in Ireland and Wee dock in the US, it seems. Why not reply directly to my s/n and I will share what I have with you.

Sorry, Tony....I made a mistake in my last post....the name Weadock/Weadock is pronounced Wee Dock in the US and Way dick in Ireland. When the name was Anglicanized, the letter A in the name was a long A...as in Way. In the US, two vowels together, would be pronounced with a long E...Wee.
