The Wassermans sisters that arrived in US had a sister (my grandmother) that lived in Grzymalow next to Skalat in the area of Tarnopol, now Ukraine (was Poland before WW2 and earlier probably Austro-Hungary). I think that as a child I heard the name Stiglitz associated with one of them in the US.

Looking for information about Wasserman sisters - maiden surname names approximate Boubee, and Slouvee - from Eastern Europe, arrived in US about 1915. Married One (or both) and lived in Brooklyn NY in the 40s and 50s. After WW2 they were in mail correspondence with my mother, their cousin, in Poland and Israel.

Yes! Our grandparents were 1st cousins and our great grandparents were sisters. My Great-grandparents were David Wasserman and his wife Anna Silverman. From what I've been able to find out Anna was one of several sisters, including Sadie. I actually have a picture of all of them if you would like it. Sadie married Phillip Glaser and they had 3 children Jack (I'm guessing this is your grandfather Jacob), Gussie and Lillian. Is the spelling with 1 "s"? I always thought it was Glasser...

Do you know how the Prince family is related?

My grandfather was Jacob Glaser, b 1892 and d 1979. I think he was Wasserman's cousin. I think there was a falling out with that family around the 50s, when i was a child. But my parents bought plots there long, long ago and my father died just last year. My 93 year old mom and I were at the cemetery this past Sunday. Jacob's parents were immigrants, the father was Philip Glaser and I think the mother was Sadie. Does that ring any bells? My grandfather's sister, Lillie Cohen is buried there along with her family. There are also people with last name Prince who i vaguely knew when i was young.

It is Wellwood Cemetary in West Babylon. It's #17 on their map (the office had it as "Wassenberger" but it is definitely "Wasserman")

Yes. My grandfather's half-brother, Arron Wasserman, settled in Terra Haute, In and later moved to St. Louis with his son Helman. I have never heard of Lopa. Care to share trees?

UPDATE found Helen's brother and he gave me some information. Did find Helen's granddaughter on Facebook and her name was not Heidi but rather it was Heather;whom I believe was named after Helen since Helen died four years before she was born.

I would still love more information on Charles if I can't get any information from their daughter Tobie.

My name is Rita Park. My grandfather was Leon Waterman
(Wasserman) born in Plock Poland. My sister and I are not able to find his origins in Poland. We do not know how or when he left Poland but was married in England in 1915.
We believe that other members of his family,siblings or cousins went to America. Family members included an industrial chemist,college professor and female minister of transport in Poland.His father's name was Abraham and he was a boatman.Any leads would be greatly appreciated as we are becoming extremely frustrated.

Raymond was married to the late Bette Ellen (Tabackin) Wasserman on December 8, 1968 in Philadelphia. He was referred to, by those close to him, as the original Cookie Monster. He could always get a laugh from those he met. He enjoyed many things in life, including spending time with his grandchildren, and his two cats Gus and Spunky. Ray loved all sports, spending time at the bowling alley, his boy scout excursions, his GE luncheons, running program sales for Temple University football in the 80's, and his time spent with family and friends at the Palace Skating Center in Philadelphia. It looks like we're related. All of the names you've mentioned are in my tree. Sam Wasserman came from Austria in 1888 and eventually settled in Indiana,PA. We never found out what happened to Louis, though. According to my Dad, Louis and Harry were very close. But I never met either. Keep searching. You're on the right track.

My great great grandfather was Abraham Wasserman was married to Yudes and had 2 children, Ben and Sarah. They are originally from Stolin which depending on what time in history was in Poland, Russia, Belarus.

I know this is many many years later, but I just started my search and my grandfather Louis Wasserman was your grandfather Harry's brother. Until a few weeks ago I did not know Louis had any siblings. But, Louis's parents were Yetta and Samuel and his siblings were Lena, Esther, etc. as I just learned from my Aunt (Louis's daughter). Please let me know if you get this before I go on and on.

Louis passed away March 7, 1952 in Cleveland.
His wife Sylvia (maiden name Solomon), passed away a little over a year later in June 2, 1953 in Cleveland.

I never knew there was any other Wasserman out there related to me besides my brother carrying on the Wasserman name...

I just got this email from my Aunt (Louis's daughter):
"You're jogging my memory Sue. I guess I remember more than I thought. I'll give you a rundown of what I do remember. Helen - married name Prenner - 4 boys - Louis, Sam, Phil, Milton. I believe they ended up in Panama, Fla. Pearl- married name Roth - 1 son, Yale. Lena - married name Roth - she had children, but don't know about that. Had a clothing store - not sure where in Pa. possibly Vandergrift. Harry - had 2 children Sanford & Jeanie. Esther married late don't know to whom. Getting excited about learning all about this. Keep it up Love Aunt Shirley"

By the way, Louis died when my dad was 12 or 13. Louis had two children: Shirley and Donald. I am Donald's daughter.

I have no idea if we are related but I also come from a large Wasserman family that I have traced back to Podolsk. My great grandfather was David Wasserman (b. 1853) and he was married to Anna. Their children were George, Nathan, Alex, Gussie and Sara. They immigrated to the U.S. about 1896-1898.

My gt.gt grandfather, Solomon Wasserman, was born in Germany and emigrated to America ca.1867.He was a language professor,teaching both French and German.In the 1870 Census he was living in Brooklyn with his wife,Rosa(nee Israel)and many children.I believe the sons were involved in a family business importing cigars.It was run by one of the oldest sons,Benoit.
Solomon and Rosa wed in France and most all of the children were born in Alsace-Lorraine.I think the youngest,Adele,was born in the US.Am hoping this sounds familiar to someone out there.Would love to share more family history.

My husband (Fanie Wasserman) and his family must be part of your family. We live in the Humansdorp area on a family farm, Langfontein, Kareedouw. Our ancestor is Johann Georg Wasserman. He and his wife Maria (born van der Wat) had 8 children, 5 daughters and 3 sons. The eldest two sons never got married. Thus are all of you descendants of hul youngest son, Johann George. Jeremiah (Jerry) Wasserman did some research on this topic. Please contact me for the information.
