I don't have any info on James or Phebe, but I am looking for a Charles W. Warren who served in the Union Army, and enlisted from Shapleigh, ME. Your James is the right age to have served, too, perhaps they were kin??? I have a letter written by John Henry Warren, Union Army, enlisted from Cadiz, WI, letter dated 1865, to his wife Sarah Jane Sayward Warren, who was in Shapleigh with their 3 oldest children, waiting out the war. John wrote " I have heard nothing of Charles" - could be Charles anyone, but I wonder if it might be Charles W. Warren. I'm trying to tie up this loose end. Any help will be appreciated.
