Hello
I have just started my search into the Warfel side of my family. Henry was my great-great grandfather. John Daughtery Warfel, my great grandfather and U.S. Grant Warfel my grandfather. He had one child a daughter Esther Mae Warfel-Whitney who was my mother. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Samuel Warfel of Safe Harbor, PA

There are two Warfels in my tree: Samuel Warfel (B:~1848 near Safe Harbor, Conestoga Township, Lancaster Co., PA) and his daughter Emma (B:~1867). Samuel married Catherine Simmers (B:~1850 in Safe Harbor; daughter of Patrick Simmers [B:~1813 in Maryland, later living in Safe Harbor] and Mary Simmers [1811-1888 in Safe Harbor and later Columbia Borough, Lancaster Co.]). Samuel and Catherine had two daughters, Emma and Mary Warfel (B:~1871) and two sons, Abraham (B:~1869) and Adam Warfel(B:~1873).

Emma Warfel married George Poff (B:~1863 near Delta, York Co., PA). They had a son named Harry (1886-1961) and lived in Columbia. George and Emma divorced probably between 1889 and 1893. George remarried about 1893 to Henrietta, who had a daughter named Ida Reed. I do not know what happened to Emma.

I have Sarah Elizabeth WARFEL married to Thomas Monroe GAINES, but have her as the daughter of James Alexander WARFEL and Martha Helen "Ellen" HOPKINS. I list a Sarah Ann WARFEL as the daughter of Philip Piper WARFEL and Mary HILL. This Sarah Ann WARFEL is married to Samuel HARTMAN. Can you provide me with any clarification to you data, birth, death, etc?

I would also like to find a copy of this book. My grandmother had one but I don't know what happened to it since she passed on. Did this book have family tree information in it? My grandfather was Roger Warfel from Ohio and I'm trying to trace back from there.

That big blue book, Warfel and Allied Families.
My parents have a copy and I can't seem to smuggle it away from their house.
I currently live in Northern Kentucky, near where the authors lived.
Anyone know where I can get my own copy or how to get in touch with the authors?

From the "Chronicle" we learn that Mr. Benjamin Warfel, of Mill township, died on Sabbath evening, Feb. 21st, 1875. He was born near Harrisburgh, Pa., Dec 2d, 1798, and was over 76 years old. His body was interred in the Feed Springs burying ground, Harrison county, Ohio.

Sorry to say the book Warfel and Allied Familes is no longer in print. I have tried to track it down thru its publisher but was unable to find them either. Thru postings on several genealogy sites I have gotten some information from several people who are in possession of the book and have looked up my branch of the family for me.

Recently a cousin sent me information she had found several years ago in what I think is the Warfel Family History book. Can anyone with the book tell me more about this connection? I am also interested in where the author found the information and is it reliable. This could help resolve an ancestor conflect in our family. Thank you so very much for you assistance.

Thank you for your information. I find that interesting as I have a photo copy of the page supposidly taken from the book. I will double check the page I am thinking about.

The reference to Frederick Huston Evans b 8 March 1881marrying Mary Rojier Warfuel(Warfel) 2 Sept 1908 should be true. Was there no reference to this marriage at all?

My great-great grandfather, Amos Warfel, had a brother, George. They had 9 brothers and sisters. Their parents were Jacob and Mary(Lontz) Warfel, m. in 1776.
Jacob was born in 1752. Amos was born in 1816. Jacob and Mary were Pennsylvania Dutch, residing in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.

Flora Warfel was previously married to James Hahn. Her birthdate was Aug 25, 1900 and she died in April 1981 in Missouri. Her maiden name was Flora Combs. Flora had three sons; Fred Hahn, Marion Franklin Hahn, and James O. Hahn. Marion died on July 18, 1977 in St. Louis.

Marion Franklin Hahn is my birth father and I am searching for any family history or descendants that can provide either family or medical history.

Jacob Warfel of PA and OH

I am looking for the parents and family of Jacob Warfel, born about 1805 in PA. His parents were also born in PA but I don't know who they are. He married Mariah (or Maria). She was born about 1820. They had at least 7 children....Catherine, Mary A, John A, Dianel N, George W, Alpha M, and James W (born: Jul 11, 1858). Everyone but James W was born in Pennsylvania. The family moved to VA and then settled in Wooster, Wayne County, OH. James W was the only child born in Ohio. James W is my gg-grandfather.

Louis, My Grandpas' surname was Samaine. He was married to Rebecca Laura Walls in 1930 in Colorado. My grandmas' mother 's name was Jessie B. Warfel. She was married to Clifford Walls. I am very much interested in finding out if there is any information you might have on Charles Daniel Samaine (or mention of ANY Samaine) in the family book. I have a copy of the book WARFEL & ALLIED FAMILIES by Stanley and Jane Warfel. They spent at least 25 or 30 years gathering information on the Warfel Family beginning with George Warfel and his brother Melchior Warfel who came to America in 1932. There are 7 listings for Evans in the index but none of them sound like your people.
