MUSCATINE,
Iowa - Blanche I. Wardlow, 100, formerly of 3305 Grandview Avenue, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Lutheran
Homes.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008, at the Memorial
Park Cemetery. Reverend Kimberly
Bowles of the Island United Methodist Church will officiate.
The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Island United Methodist Church or the Lutheran
Homes.
Blanche was born on December 3, 1907, in
Highland Township near
Washington, the daughter of Chester P. and Ella May Gilbert Fish. She married
Verne C. Wardlow on July 15, 1943. He preceded her in death.
She has been a resident of Muscatine since 1922. She owned and operated her own hair salon since 1932.
She was a member of the Island United Methodist Church along with the UMW and ICC. She was also a member of the Women of the
Moose, the
Eagles Lodge, the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. in
Buffalo, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and three sisters.
