In December 2012, I posted a Query at the ROPER Message Board regarding the orphaned grandchildren subject to a dispute decided by the Tennessee Supreme Court in Ward v. Roper (1846):
"TN Supreme Court Case: Ward v. Roper (1846)" (25 Dec 2012 5:44PM)
http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.roper/1750/mb.ashxWith the help of more specific information appearing within the Indices of the Tennessee Supreme Court Archives, I have resolved the identity of the two grandchildren and the identity of the ROPER grandparents. I haven't fully run to ground the remaining genealogical information regarding the WARD family, abut someone interested in this Smith County, Tennessee, WARD family might want to take a look at my posts and even perhaps pull the underlying court records for further inspection.

Please understand that this is NOT my branch of the ROPER family and I have no other specific information about this family other than what I have already posted. Neither is this family a central focus of my research. I stumbled upon the Tennessee Supreme Court case by accident, while researching something else and posted the information hoping it might be of interest or use, but no one seems to have taken an interest in this data. Upon resolving my own Query, I have also undertaken to SHARE what I found, but I am not particularly interested in further elaborating the genealogy of this unrelated family.
Hopefully, someone descended from John or Mary WARD might still benefit!
I would, however, appreciate it if anyone learning additional information, especially the NAME of the unidentified daughter of John Y. ROPER who married a WARD, would post the information you find!
